Caries diagnosis

In the diagnosis of caries only the combination of the metal tip probe (explorer) and X-ray examination of the teeth is comparable to the probe laser fluorescence.

However, the examination with mechanical probes pointed, can damage healthy tooth and cause pain and
stress in the patient. Moreover, the radiographic examination always involves a certain load of radiation and is not suitable for the early detection of caries, but only when it reaches a certain extension.

Conversely, the diagnostic technique fluorescence (DIAGNOdent) for the early diagnosis of dental caries and periodontitis is usable even without the use of radiation and mechanical stress of the teeth and has a high degree of reliability, as evidenced by numerous scientific studies.
